Police say there has been a serious multi-vehicle accident on M62 Eastbound between J26 M606 / A58 (Chain Bar) and J27 M621 / A650 / A62 (Gildersome).
The incident was first reported at 135pm and the motorway is closed. One lane of the westbound carriageway is also closed.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "This is a serious road traffic collision involving three vehicles one of which was a Transit van. The fire service is there and there are potentially serious injuries."
