THE mother of a four-year-old girl killed in her Huddersfield home has been charged in connection with her death.

The 22-year-old was due to appear before Huddersfield Magistrates today facing the specific charge of causing or allowing the death of a child.

Leticia Aalayah Wright died in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as a result of complications from suffering multiple injuries in the early hours of Sunday.

Police stressed that the murder inquiry is still underway.

Leticia and her family, who are from Huddersfield, had moved away and only returned to live in Almondbury Bank in August.

Police refused to give details of the injuries she suffered.

Detectives have appealed for anyone who knew the family to contact them.
