A MUM accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to a man, after her stiletto heel went into his eye, is due to stand trial in July.

Staci Hargreaves, 33, from Stalybridge, Cheshire, entered a not guilty plea to the charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Gavin Taylor, when she made a brief appearance before a judge at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.

The charge arises out of an incident in a taxi after they had been on a night out in Huddersfield in February.

At the time it was reported that Mr Taylor was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and later transferred to Leeds General Infirmary after the stiletto heel penetrated his eye socket and touched his brain.

Hargreaves’ trial is due to last three days and yesterday Judge Jonathan Potter extended her conditional bail until the hearing in July.

As a condition of her bail she must live at her father's address in Stalybridge and not contact Mr Taylor, who lives opposite her home address in the town.
