A HEAVILY pregnant woman escaped serious injury after a terrifying car crash.

The woman's Range Rover Sport rolled over several times after a collision with a Rover 75 at the junction of Lane Head Road and Cross Lane in Shepley on Saturday.

Paramedics took the woman, who is seven months' pregnant, to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

She was treated for cuts to her face and hands.

Her unborn child was unharmed.

The driver of the Rover 75 suffered shock.

Police arrived at the accident scene at around midday.

They closed the road for three hours.
