POLICE have been given more time to question a murder suspect.

An 18-year-old youth from Huddersfield was arrested on Monday on suspicion of killing 23-year-old Michael Hanley.

Mr Hanley, of Harehills in Leeds, died after he was shot in the stomach outside Sheridan's Bar at Calder Wharfe Mills in Ravensthorpe on December 27 last year.

The teenager was arrested in Doncaster on suspicion of murder and taken to Dewsbury for questioning.

Magistrates last night granted police a 30-hour extension to continue quizzing him.

Four other men are on bail pending further inquiries.
