THE NATIONAL Coal Mining Museum will celebrate its 21st anniversary at its Annual MIners’ Gala on June 7 (10am).

The 1940s themed event will be opened at by five-year-old Bethany Salmon from Dewsbury who is battling liver disease and Colonel the shire horse. The event includes a helter skelter, water colour class, Punch and Judy show and local produce stalls.

There will also be 1940s vintage vehicles, Grange Moor Brass Band, drystone wall demonstrations and a pigeon release.

All the museum’s regular attractions, including the 140 metre pit, will be open.
