PADDOCK Cricket Club staged its own music festival to help raise funds for a new changing block.

The event took place at the club on Sunday and featured punk band Middle Finger Response, indie group The Red Pills and rock and roll band The Sundiblokes.

Around 250 people turned up to see the show.

Along with a raffle, ticket sales look set to have raised more than £600 towards the club’s £200,000 target for a new changing room block and scoreboard.

The old block and scoreboard were burnt by vandals several years ago.

The concert was the second in a series of fundraising events, the first being car park cricket games a week ago.

Hugh Golbourne is one of the men behind the appeal and said sponsorship would be welcome, for both the club and new building.

He said: “We would be delighted to hear from anyone who can help.”
