A fundraising breakfast has realised a five-figure sum for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Staff at the 14 branches of Huddersfield-based Myers Building Supplies took part in the fundraiser in support of the YAA’s Yellow Yorkshire Day.

Employee wore yellow t-shirts and each branch was equipped with a Big Prize Grid – allowing customers to make a donation in exchange for a chance to win a prize ranging from cordless drills and tape measures to t-shirts and mugs.

As a result of their efforts, Myers Group directors James Berry and Katie Berry were able to present a cheque for £5,486.86 to YAA fundraising director Paul Gowland at the group’s headquarters at Barr Street, off Leeds Road.

The group announced its partnership with the Elland-based air ambulance earlier this year and has so far raised more than £8,000 for the charity.
