POLICE have sealed off a house in Almondbury after the death of a child.

Forensics officers spent all yesterday at the home on Almondbury Bank after reports that a child had died.

It is not known if it is a boy or a girl.

Police have confirmed this morning that a major inquiry is being carried out.

At this stage it is not clear if anyone has been arrested .

The house remained sealed off this morning.

A police car was parked outside the end terraced home.

The investigation is being carried out by officers from West Yorkshire Police's Major Homicide and Enquiry Team - known as HMET.

The team was set up to deal specifically with invstigations into serious crimes.
