HUDDERSFIELD Town’s missing old Leeds Road centre spot plaque was anchored down, its owners say.

Capita Symonds says they made sure it was properly sealed when they returned the plaque last December after it had dislodged.

The centre spot plaque went missing again over the weekend.

Philip Murphy, of Capita Symonds, agents for the landowners, said: “We don’t know what’s happened to it, but when we put it back last December we took every precaution to make sure it stayed in place.

“We drilled it in, anchored it and then sealed it with resin.

“Whatever’s happened to it there would need to be some force to get it out.

“It’s not worth a lot in weight value terms and it would be hard to sell it to a scrap merchant with the inscription.”
