A MYSTERIOUS spa is the focus of attention for Kirkburton parish council.

Members of its environmental committee are keen to renovate the feature at Fenay Bridge, but information about the site is elusive.

Since beginning research in February, councillors and officials have determined that the spa was filled in during the 1920s, leaving just an archway. They also discovered that the site was beneath a bridge, but this also disappeared many years ago.

Parish Clerk Angela Royle described the spa as "an historical part of the area".

She has appealed for more information so renovations could begin on the once-pretty landmark.
