PUB staff are collecting presents to send to poor children at Christmas – and they want your help.

The Nag’s Head on New Hey Road is taking part in Operation Christmas Child.

The national appeal ships off shoe boxes full of gifts to children across the world who don’t have any presents to open on Christmas day.

The pub is acting as a drop-off point for Huddersfield people who want to donate presents to the appeal.

General Manager David Long said: “We are delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile campaign.

“We'll be doing everything we can to spread festive cheer and to put a smile on the faces of children in the most desperate situations around the world.”
