A PROBATION officer has won a top award.
David Quarmby, of Newsome, has been honoured for his work with disabled staff and offenders.
He was one of three West Yorkshire probation workers to win a National Probation Service diversity award.
Mr Quarmby, who is registered as blind, said: "It was nice to receive an award, but the work has only just begun.
"The new Disability Bill and the duty of public organisations to promote disability equality provides a real opportunity to change attitudes."
