NURSERY nurses from across the country gathered in Huddersfield to share ideas.

More than 120 delegates met at the Holiday Inn, Clifton, for a conference organised by nursery nurses from Huddersfield Central and South Huddersfield primary care trusts.

The event - the first of its kind - was held to highlight nursery nurses as professionals in their own right.

Domestic violence, behavioural problems and special needs were some of the issues raised by guest speakers at the event.

Huddersfield nursery nurse Kim Garner said: "It was fantastic, a really good day. Everybody came out feeling really motivated."
