AN event which aims to help young people not in education, employment or training to find a vocation, is being held in Dewsbury today.

The “Not Sorted, get Sorted” recruitment events for young people interested in vocational training opportunities will take place, thanks to the Venture Foundation Learning Partnership.

The partnership which includes Kirklees College, Kirklees Council, North and South Kirklees Training Provider and the Connexions service aims to provide opportunities to young people not in employment, education or training in Kirklees and is funded by the Skills Funding Agency.

It will be held at the Dewsbury Rams Stadium, Owl Lane, today from noon to 6pm.

Fifteen different training providers in the Kirklees area will be on hand to answer questions and provide information.

Advisors at the drop-in event will also be able to talk about a wide range of courses available to young people.

Potential learners can find out about taking the first steps back into training by undertaking foundation learning courses and how they can move on to skills-based courses ranging from motor vehicle to business and administration.
