A NEW bus service reconnects two neighbouring villages.
The route of the 305 was changed earlier this year, meaning people could no longer travel from Linthwaite into the centre of Milnsbridge.
But a new hourly 388 service was launched this month to plug the gap.
It will run from Meltham to Linthwaite and Milnsbridge before carrying on to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
Clr Nicola Turner, who represents Colne Valley on Kirklees Council, welcomed the move. The Lib Dem said: “This hourly service has been introduced in response to the needs of local people.
“However, the haphazard process of introducing and cancelling routes at the whim of bus operators must be changed.”
