TWO new faces have joined the National Trust at Marsden.

Elaine McGoogan has been appointed assistant to the property manager.

She will ensure the smooth running of the Marsden Moor estate office.

Elaine has moved from the West Midlands with her husband. She has recently obtained a BA (honours) degree in English language, literature and art from Birmingham University.

Richard Humpidge has been appointed head warden for West Yorkshire Countryside Properties - Hardcastle Crags and the Marsden Moor estate.

He has moved to the area from north Cambridgeshire with his wife and three children. He formerly worked for bird charity the RSPB.

David Finnis, West Yorkshire Countryside property manager, said Elaine would be in charge of organising the Marsden Moor Estate office and Richard's bird and woodland knowledge would be a great asset in his work on the day-to-day countryside management of the area.
