ARSONISTS have attacked a riding school shut down by yobs.

Longley Riding School on Fannymoor Lane, Lowerhouses, closed this month after owner Peter Firth began to fear for his life.

Yobs had set fire to a barn at the end of April and if the fire had spread, Mr Firth - who lived in a cottage next door - would have been in great danger.

Horses had also been attacked.

The closure made the Huddersfield Riding For The Disabled Association homeless.

At 9pm on Tuesday night, yobs set fire to hay in one of the stables.

Huddersfield firefighters confined the blaze to one stable, but the wooden walls and roof were charred.

There have been stables there for 250 years.
