LITTLE Leah Darby is just seven-years-old, but she is already becoming queen of the dancefloor.
Leah, of New Mill, has scooped 12 trophies in dance competitions since February.
At her last competition, Horsforth Festival of Dance in April, she claimed first place in four of five solo dances she performed.
Leah has been dancing since she was two, but only started competing when she joined the Adele Taylor School of Dance two years ago.
Her elder sister Danielle, 12, is also a pupil at the school in Dundas Street, Huddersfield.
Mum Jane said: “Leah has come on leaps and bounds since she started there and so has Danielle.
“Leah loves dancing, she lives for it.
“She is doing well not just because she is dedicated but because the teacher is fantastic with her.”
Leah, a pupil at Wooldale Junior School, studies ballet, tap, modern styles and different national dances.
Her success has not been confined to competitions.
In November, she took her Grade 1 Royal Academy of Dance ballet exam and scored 99% – the highest mark in her school.
She is set to dance at several competitions in the coming weeks, including the All England Regional Finals in Rotherham on Sunday.
