EQUALITY workers will launch a new organisation next week.
Kirklees Racial Equality Council will become Kirklees Equality and Human Rights Agency (KEHRA) next week.
The new group will have an expanded remit covering race, religion, age, gender, disability and sexual orientation.
Chairman Zubeda Pandor said: “KEHRA will give us all, regardless of our background, a deeper understanding of equality and a better opportunity to get to know and understand the others who share in the life of our area.”
The new group will be launched at 11am next Friday at the Brian Jackson Centre at New North Parade.

Meanwhile, a team of KEHRA staff are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge for charity.
They will walk the 25-mile route in aid of the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust, which aims to build a children’s hospice and respite centre in Brackenhall.
