THE recycling centres in Huddersfield are reverting to their winter schedules.

The five centres will move to winter opening hours from Monday November 1.

It means that over the winter period the centres close one hour earlier during weekdays because of shorter daylight hours, closing at 4pm rather than 5pm.

All the sites will be open as follows from November 1:

Weekday opening – 8am to 4pm; Saturday – 8am to 4pm;

Sunday – 9am to 4pm

The five sites are: Emerald Street, Hillhouse; Bent Ley Road, Meltham; Bromley Farm, Upper Cumberworth; Thornhill Road, Dewsbury and Nab Lane, Birstall.

The sites can be used to recycle a wide range of materials including: glass, paper, cardboard, Tetrapak (drink cartons), plastic and metal containers, old clothing, garden waste, batteries, engine oil, cooking oil (with the exception of Bromley Farm), metal, paint, and electrical and white goods such as washers and cookers.
