A SCHEME to get people in Yorkshire on health-related benefits back into employment is to be launched.
The Permanent Secretary for the Department for Work and Pensions, Sir Leigh Lewis, will give a keynote speech to local business leaders, community partners, employers and other dignitaries about ‘Pathways to Work’, a high profile government-funded programme.
He will also be calling all local and regional employers to get involved, support their community and help make a difference.
Support will include help with finding employment, interview skills, retraining, financial support and an innovative ‘condition management programme’ that helps people come to terms with the barriers to work that have stemmed from their medical condition.
The Pathways to Work programme includes a ‘return to work credit’ of £40 per week to support people during their transition from benefits to employment.
