A HUDDERSFIELD woman braved a 13,800ft sky dive in memory of her heroic older brother.
Jessica Hodkinson, 24, of Newsome, took to the skies with the famous Red Devils to honour her brother Lance Corporal Adam Hodkinson who died in a car accident last year.
Jessica, who works as an online PR consultant in Leeds, said: “Adam once told me a story about a parachute jump he had done, it sounded amazing but I could never build up the courage to do one.
“Jumping with the Red Devils just seemed like the perfect opportunity to challenge myself and raise money for charity.
“I have raised just over £700 for Help for Heroes.”
Father-of-two Adam had served in the 1st Battalion, The Duke of Wellington’s Regiment from aged 18 and had survived tours of duty in Kosovo and Iraq.
For the last seven years he served with the Military Provost Guard Service, which provides armed and unarmed security guard services to military bases throughout the UK, and was based at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire.
Jessica embarked on the tandem jump with Red Devil, Lance Corporal Nathan Connolly at Langar Airfield.
Engineer dad Tony has been busy getting support from his colleagues at Huddersfield-based VTL Europe Ltd and has managed to raise nearly £150.To donate visit http://www.bmycharity.com/diveinmemoryof
