Huddersfield Giants and England star Brett Ferres has allegedly been caught cheating by his wife.

Newspaper reports over the weekend claimed the player had been caught with another woman.

He was found out by his wife Amanda, it was alleged.

Ferres, 29, was last week suspended by his club.

The shock suspension came just days after the second-row forward had played a leading role in England’s Test series triumph over New Zealand.

Ferres scored tries against the Kiwis and had earlier scored a hat-trick in England’s comprehensive pre-series victory over France.

In a statement the club said: “Huddersfield Giants have suspended Brett Ferres from the club pending an internal investigation into conduct away from the club.

“The Giants will be making no further comment at this stage”.

After the newspaper revelations this weekend, the club said they would not be making any further comment.

Ferres had been given more time off to take a break from playing after his work with the England camp.

He and the Giants’ other England stars, Jermaine McGillvary and Leroy Cudjoe, were not due to resume training with their team-mates until mid December.

The remaining players resumed training two weeks ago ready for the start of the new Super League season in February.

Ferres and his wife Amanda, 29, have two children and live in Castleford.

The forward signed for the Giants after a career which had taken in Bradford, Wakefield and Castleford.

Ferres is currently Huddersfield’s vice-captain.

He was named in the 2013 Super League Dream Team after playing a key role in his club’s league leaders’ shield success.
