FASHION retailer Next is to open a store in Dewsbury with the creation of 45 jobs.

The high street chain will open its 8,500sq ft store in Railway Street in December.

The new jobs will include full and part-time sales staff, sales supervisors and stockroom workers.

Next, which has 380 stores UK-wide, said the store would offer clothing for men, women and children along with homeware.

The move follows a decision by Next to open a second store in Huddersfield.

Next is moving into the former PC World premises at the Great Northern Retail Park, Leeds Road. The unit is now being converted.

The new Huddersfield store is due to open in early 2006. The store in the Kingsgate Centre will continue to trade.

May Leung, of Next, said the Huddersfield store would offer womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and homewares.
