A WEIGHT management scheme has been backed by NHS Kirklees this summer.

The Really Big Summer Adventure has been organised to inspire children and families to get active and eat healthily over the holidays.

As part of the national Change4Life initiative, competitions and healthy offers have been designed to keep children entertained.

Kirklees Council and Kirklees Active Leisure are running activities in sport centres, libraries, museums and art galleries as part of their Summer Buzz programme.

Holiday schemes lasting two to three days will be available for children aged eight to 14 who are above their ideal weight.

Between August 15 and 19, coaches from Huddersfield Town and Huddersfield Giants will be holding a Big Summer Adventure Week.

This will include rugby, football, street dance, cheerleading and ultimate Frisbee. For more information call 01484 234 096 or visitwww.kirklees.gov.uk
