HEALTH chiefs admit: a swine flu epidemic is on the way to Huddersfield.

And, after an extensive leafleting campaign, they want to ensure that people are prepared. They have launched a survey to ensure residents have got the message.

Dr Judith Hooper, NHS Kirklees Director of Public Health, said: “It is widely accepted that a surge in swine flu cases is expected later this year.

“It is important that we do all we can to make sure people know what to do.”

People can help by completing the survey on the NHS Kirklees website.

“This will help us understand how people use the information we are putting out and how effective it has been in keeping them informed about what to do if they suspect they or a family member has Swine Flu,” said Dr Hooper.
