MOST brides have a dream wedding in mind.
They picture the long, white wedding dress, scores of bridesmaids fluffy in pink and a mountainous cake.
But for Shaz Evans, 43, and Paul O'Kane, 33, of Outlane, their big day was all about ... darkness.
The Goth couple got hitched in black, had a black cake and even asked their bridesmaid, Danielle Mitchell, to wear black.
But mother-of-five Shaz said she would not have had the happiest day of her life any other way.
"We wanted to do something a bit different," she said.
"We are big fans of Goth music like Sisters of Mercy and Marilyn Manson and we wanted to have our wedding celebrations to match our taste."
The invites sent out to more than 50 family and friends even asked if they could dig out something dark to wear.
"Not everyone wore black but most people did," said Shaz.
"Surprisingly it was not too hard to find all the things for the wedding.
"I did have to have the dress made specially though.
"We had a normal disco but we played a few of our favourite tracks as well - you can't have a Goth wedding without Goth music."
Paul's mum, Linda Mitchell, said: "People made an effort.
"It looked very smart with people in black. Even the photographer was asked to shoot some of the pictures in black and white."
After the wedding celebrations at The Pennine Manor Hotel, in Scapegoat Hill, the smitten pair jetted off on honeymoon.
But instead of Transylvania- a favourite haunt of Goths - they have gone to get some sun on the beaches of Majorca.
