A MAN'S night out went from bad to worse when a taxi dropped him miles from home and then he was robbed.

The 29-year-old had been in Huddersfield town centre and got a taxi at 1.50am yesterday.

He asked to go to Cleckheaton, but the driver must have misheard him and dropped him off in New Road at Kirkheaton.

Shortly after the taxi left he was attacked and robbed by two Asian men, who stole his mobile phone and wallet.

He flagged down a car which turned out to be another taxi.

The driver took him home.

The victim suffered cuts and bruises to his forehead, shoulders and both knees.

Anyone who saw the robbery or has any information should phone Det Con Richard Drabble at Huddersfield CID's robbery team on 01484 436745.
