A LAUREL and Hardy film night is set to run at Elland’s Rex Cinema.

And, as in the era when many of the films were first shown, an organist will accompany some of the short films.

The Laurel and Hardy film night was first held at the Rex in 1994 and has become so popular that it is now an annual event.

Members of the comic duo’s fan club are expected to attend this year’s event, many of them dressed in Laurel and Hardy gear.

The film night includes a full evening of films – a feature and three two-reelers – with Mildred Sutcliffe at the organ.

The event will include classics such as Blotto, The Chimp and Busy Bodies and is on Saturday, April 17, from 7.30pm.

Tickets are £4.50 (all ages) and are available from the cinema, based on Coronation Street, Elland. Call 01422 372140 for more information.
