A NIGHT of rock music at a Meltham pub has helped raise cash for Huddersfield Royal Infirmary’s Special Care Baby Unit.

The Wills O’Nats Inn, at Blackmoorfoot Road, Meltham, hosted the event on Saturday.

Four Huddersfield bands performed – Red Star, Pinstripe, Northern Beats and Chasing Amy.

The event was held to raise funds for the unit.

The organiser’s son was taken there after being born prematurely at 28 weeks.

The little boy has just celebrated his first birthday.

Bob Luty, landlord of the Wills O’Nats Inn, said: “It was an exceptionally good night and we had around 600 people in the pub.

“We haven’t had a charity do here before, but we will be having more in future.”
