A MAN who played a major role in a multi-million pound drugs operation has been jailed for nine years.
Andrew Dawson, of St Luke’s Close, Batley, was the “regional distributor” in a conspiracy to import herbal cannabis and cannabis oil.
Customs officers stopped a five-and-a-half tonne consignment of drugs bound for West Yorkshire.
He pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charge.
