POLICE have given a stark warning to youngsters who cause trouble in Huddersfield town centre: You will be nicked!

Officers arrested 15 youngsters when trouble flared on Victoria Lane following an 18th birthday party which finished at 12.15am one day this week.

All were arrested on suspicion of affray - including four aged under 18 - but were later given £80 fixed penalty notices after admitting disorder.

Det Con Russ Conlon from Kirklees CID Intelligence Unit said: "This sort of anti-social behaviour fuelled by alcohol will not be tolerated and we will deal positively with anyone behaving in such a way.

"Nor will we tolerate underage drinking. We aren't trying to discourage people from enjoying themselves, but people need to behave responsibly otherwise they will have to face the consequences of their actions."
