AN OPERATION targeting pubs suspected of allowing people to smoke found no problems.

On Friday night Calderdale’s Lower Valley officers joined the council’s licensing team to target premises where they believed people were breaking smoking laws.

They visited several establishments in the Lower Valley – Elland, Brighouse and Rastrick – but found all were compliant with the smoking ban.

But officers have said they will carry out similar operations in the future and say they will act on tip-offs provided by members of the public.
