TWO men from Huddersfield will not be tried again for grievous bodily harm, after a brawl outside a nightclub, which left a man with serious brain injuries.
Leeds Crown Court heard yesterday that the Crown Prosecution Service will not retry the case against Govinder Rayt, of Kirkwood Drive, Dalton, and Hardeep Singh, of Long Lane, Dalton.
The friends have already been convicted of affray for their involvement in the attack outside Gatecrasher nightclub in Leeds.
But on October 8, a jury were not able to decide whether Rayt, 21, was guilty of two counts of grievous bodily harm, and Singh, 24, was guilty of grievous bodily harm.
Singh was found not guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent.
The jury were dismissed and yesterday at Leeds Crown Court it was decided there would be no retrial.
Govinder Rayt's brother, Kulvinder Rayt, of Church Street, Paddock, has already been found guilty of two counts of grievous bodily harm and affray after the attack on October 4 last year.
The 25-year-old has been remanded in custody.
The three men will all be sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on November 6.
