THERE’S no chance of a white Christmas in Huddersfield.

That was the message yesterday from Salendine Nook weatherman Paul Stevens.

“There’s absolutely no chance of a white Christmas,” he said.

“We’ve done well to have snow for two of the last three years, but we’re going to have a traditional green Christmas rather than the Dickens variety.”

Mr Stevens thinks the next few days will be warmer than average for this time of year.

“There will be some rain around on Wednesday and temperatures of 8 or 9C, about 48F, which is well above normal,” he said.

“It should stay mostly dry but there will be some drizzle around on the hills.

“A cold front will come through on Thursday night and it will be a little bit colder on Friday and Saturday, about 5C or 41F, which is normal for this time of year.

“On Christmas Day another warm front will come through and the temperature will be around 7 or 8C.

“It will be wet and windy on Boxing Day with gusts of 60mph.”
