A SERIES of Nordic walks are being launched in Huddersfield this month.
The first session takes place on Friday, January 13 in Greenhead Park.
Participants will learn some basic techniques before setting off on a walk.
Nordic or pole walking is fun and sociable.
It offers all round exercise and uses over 90% of the body’s muscles.
The poles help to propel the walker along, which means they work harder.
The technique can also help reduced stress on knees and other joints.
Participants need to meet by the cafe opposite the tennis courts at 10.30am.
They must dress appropriately for the weather and outdoor trainers are ideal.
Nordic poles are available for a small hire charge.
