AFTER eating a turkey and filling up on Christmas cake you might want to put the world to rights.

And Calderdale Council is letting you.

Over Christmas they’re inviting residents to have a say on how the authority should spend its money.

People have until Tuesday, January 3, to comment as part of the budget consultation.

Clr Janet Battye, inset, Calderdale Council’s leader, said: “Rising costs and changes in the way councils are funded means difficult spending decisions need to be made.

“Last year’s consultation set us up well for the coming year but we need to know whether people think we are getting our spending priorities right during these difficult economic times.”

Changes in funding and increasing demand from growing numbers of older and disabled people and vulnerable children are putting even more pressure on the council’s budget.
