AN organisation which offers advice and financial support to Huddersfield people and their families is urging more people to get in touch.

For more than a century the Soldiers', Sailors', Airmen's Families' Association (SSAFA) has helped anyone who has served with Britain's Army, Navy or Airforce and their families.

Case worker Malcolm Kirk said scores of people living in the area, veterans of past wars and peactime missions, their widows or wives and other relatives had benefited annually from SSAFA help.

He said people were always treated with frendliness and courtesy and in complete confidence by voluntary staff.

Mr Kirk said people should not be embarrassed to ask for help.

The Huddersfield offices are in Cloth Hall Street at 13 and14 Kings Head buildings by the TSB bank.

People can call in between 9.30 and 11am on Tuesday and Friday mornings or phone on 01484 425472.
