A FLYAWAY parrot who was serenading people to sleep by singing theme tunes from TV programmes The A Team and Neighbours is back home.

Ollie had been giving the impromptu bedtime concert after escaping from his Rastrick home.

He returned to the same street - but took up residence in nearby trees and all attempts by owner Josephine Wilson to lure him back indoors proved fruitless.

She appealed for help from people who may have ideas to entice him down in yesterday's Examiner.

But Ollie, a blue-fronted Amazon parrot, has now been caught after getting careless with his new-found freedom.

He popped into a neighbour's open garage and they quickly closed the door on him. He was trapped inside and Josephine now has him back in his cage.

"I'm so relieved he's back home and safe," she said.

"He came to me straight away in the garage.

"He's such a character and we've really missed him. It's a happy ending."

Ollie had escaped through an open conservatory window a week last Thursday.

Josephine and husband, Michael, searched for him and put up posters in the area - but Josephine suddenly heard him when she was sitting in the garden last Monday.

Yet instead of flying back into the house, he made nearby trees a makeshift home and started singing as well as shouting out `hello' and `good morning' to passers-by.

Now he's back home he's had lots of treats - including one of his favourites, Yorkshire Pudding.
