A MAN on the run from Lancashire may have headed into Calderdale.

Paul Whiteley - described as "dangerous" by police - was recently released from prison on licence in Accrington, but has not been seen since last Wednesday.

The 47-year-old has convictions for indecent assault, burglary and assault and is now wanted for breaching his licence conditions.

He has connections in Halifax.

He is white, 5ft 5ins tall with blue eyes and dark brown, short untidy hair.

When last seen he was wearing a navy-coloured England shirt and navy jeans.

Detective Insp Ian Critchley, of Lancashire police, said: "He is dangerous and we are keen to trace him as soon as possible, which is why we have taken the unusual step to release his details and a photograph."

Anyone who has seen Whiteley or knows where he is should telephone Lancashire police on 012 545 1212.
