THIS lorry caused massive rush hour traffic chaos.
It had come down steep Meg Lane at Longwood and tried to turn right on to Lowergate in Paddock at 8am yesterday.
But it became grounded on the road at the back end and got totally jammed.
A tractor was needed to drag the rear of the lorry round, but the rescue operation took the best part of 90 minutes.
The photo was taken by Examiner reader Jackie Ainsworth, who said: “This happens very regularly and this could be yet another satellite navigation incident.
“It happens a lot on steep, narrow roads around here.”
Jackie’s 20-year-old son, James, tried to warn drivers heading out of Paddock towards the jam by flagging them down.
But Jackie said: “Most just ignored him and then ended up getting stuck.
“When the traffic finally got moving again we counted six buses that must have been caught up in the tailbacks.
“It couldn’t have happened at a worse time.”
Jackie and husband, Graham live at Crow Lane in Milnsbridge, with their three children, James, 17-year-old Georgina, and Edward, who is 13.
