PEOPLE will have the chance to learn how a cat charity works at an open day this month.

The Huddersfield and Halifax branch of Cats Protection are staging the event at Dalton Baptist Church, at Harp Inge, Dalton, on Saturday, May 22, from 10am to 2pm.

The branch has been running for three years and in that time has fostered and found homes for around 700 cats.

It also provides neutering services for people on low incomes, which has helped to slow the number of kittens being born.

The branch is run by around 60 volunteers.

Anyone wanting to foster cats or adopt them should call the charity on 01484 300098.
