OLDER people in Deighton and Brackenhall have the chance to try out services at a centre in their area.
The open day will be held at Brackenhall Community Centre on Longhill Road on Thursday, from 11am to 3pm.
It has been organised by Huddersfield Deanery Project For Older People, the Deighton Brackenhall Initiative and Kirklees Primary Care Trust.
New housing developments in the Deighton and Brackenhall area have led to the need to expand services for older people in the area, specifically those over 50.
The theme of the day is to encourage residents to go to the centre and see the kind of activities and social groups there.
The day will also include food and entertainment.
People can be picked up from their homes and taken to the centre.
Anyone who is interested in going should phone 01484 300094.
