An Elland hospice has created a beautiful rainbow that will bring colour to even the most dark and stormy day.

Hardy staff and members of the public fashioned their own mini multicoloured ray of sunshine in the grounds of Overgate Hospice, to encourage people to see the brighter side of life.

Attaching 1,000 ribbons to a tree, the eye-catching project is also be an unforgettable dedication to someone special in each participant’s eyes.

And people are still being invited to add their own personal touch to the display on the site in Hullen Edge Road which has so far raised over £12,000 for the charity.

Community fundraiser Lauren Ingram said: “It’s not just a campaign in memory of someone special, it’s to remind us all that we can add a bit more colour to our lives.

“Asides from the weather we had a great time putting them up at the event-it certainly brightened everyone’s day.
