TWO teenagers were robbed of their mobile phones by a four-strong gang.

The incident happened in Greenhead Park at around 4.45pm on New Year’s Eve when the 16 and 17-year-old boys were approached by a group of four teenage males.

The group asked the victims for the time and then to see their mobile phones.

Fearing for their safety, the victims showed the group their phones. They were then threatened by the suspects who took the boys mobile phones and an iPod. They also took £60 in cash from the victims before making off in the direction of Huddersfield Technical College.

The suspects were described as being four males aged 16 to 17 and of slim to medium build. Two were around six-feet tall, the others a little shorter.

All four were wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and tops, with hoods up and bandanas over their faces. At least one of the suspects was white and another Asian.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Andy Clayton at Huddersfield CID via 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
