A PARAMEDIC was injured after a collision involving a car and an ambulance in Huddersfield.

The crash happened at 9.25pm yesterday as a Ford Fiesta was being reversed out of a driveway on Wakefield Road, near the junction with Dalton Green Lane.

The driver was attempting to do a U-turn in the road and his car went into the path of the ambulance, which was travelling on Wakefield Road towards Huddersfield town centre.

The ambulance struck the rear of the car, spinning it round. The car driver was unhurt.

There was a patient in the ambulance, who was not injured in the crash.

However, the para- medic in the back of the ambulance was thrown to the floor during the collision and suffered injuries to an elbow, wrist and hip.
