PARENTS have been going back to the classroom at Stile Common Infant and Nursery School.

The Newsome school runs a programme called Share, which allows parents to come into school for an hour a week over 20 weeks.

They sit in class with their children to see how they are learning.

The parents are then given an activity to do with their child in class, which they repeat at home.

The classes taking part were nursery and reception groups.

Parents taking part in Share had the chance to build up a portfolio of work and get a certificate of accreditation for their work from the National Open College Network.

Five parents taking part in the latest Share scheme received accreditation.

Tutors Anne Jordan and Jill Mellor (left and right) are seen presenting the certificates to the parents, who are (from second left) Nicki Ramsden, Melanie Mason, Wendy Taylor, Yvonne Crossland and Emma Edwards.

The Share scheme is set to run again from next month.
