ACCIDENTS can "easily happen" at Christmas, parents have been warned.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents has urged the public to know who to contact in an emergency over the festive period.
ROSPA spokesman Roger Vincent said: "With children in the house and plenty of exciting stuff going on, accidents can easily happen.
"As part of your planning for Christmas, know who to contact for help if an accident should happen."
Mr Vincent was speaking as the Department for Health said thousands of people will turn to the NHS when accidents happen this Christmas, as well as for cough, cold and contraceptive advice.
