Parents in Rawthorpe have been warned over a man who approached a girl outside a school on Friday morning.
The girl had been walking to Netherhall Learning Campus in Netherhall Avenue when she was approached by a white man who asked her to “come away” with him and “not go to school.”
The pupil informed school staff who then contacted police and alerted parents and other youngsters.
Principal at the school Joan Young said: “The student obviously felt very intimidated but was very sensible in coming straight to us.
“We contacted her family to check there were no other family members unknown to her who may have approached her, but there were none.
“The man had told her he wanted her to go with him instead of going to school.
“We have let parents and pupils know so they are aware about walking to and from school safely.”
